DO NOT PURCHASE used last summer for 3-4 weeks when home hvac failed requiring repair. After safely storing the portable AC unit for about 12 months today the compressor kicks in but no cool air comes out. Unit appears to have lost the refrigerant similar to the other complaints posted.

Bought this airconditioner. Worked well for a while. Drained each year and put away for next summer. This year. Turn it on. Makes a lot of noise blows room temp air bit 0 cooling. Out of warranty so took it apart. Condensor coil evaporator coil clean as a whistleb thought it might be dirty and need cleaning but they dont even get warm or cool when it is running. Compressor turns on but still nada. Seems all the coolant has leaked out after 2 years or something else is catastrophically failed. After reading the other reviews this seems to be normal for LG quality. I will most likely never buy another LG product if this is their standard of excellence. Disappointed and out $300

After much research I chose LGs LP0621WSR. I have awning type windows so needed to create a wood frame to vent the AC but if I had had double-hung windows would likely have gotten a traditional window unit. The LG is easy to set up and cools effectively and so far no issues with needing to drain the unit. Mainly use it in the evening to cool the bedroom and like the timer feature to have it shut itself down. Have not gotten an electric bill yet so dont if am going to like that however my only complaint is that it is somewhat loud otherwise 5 stars but not so loud you cannot watch TV. Given this Summers high heat waves its been a good investment so far.

On the low fan setting its like in the manual: quiet enough for this light-sleeper. Installation was easy....enough. It took some time to thread the hose to the rings. But easy enough fir this senior citizen to install operate.

I can control this unit from my bed via a remote control that has a digital window. I look forward to using this AC unit and the remote control every time I go to sleep when its warm outside. This unit is ok. We bought this last summer to help cool our infant sons room at night for sleeping. The biggest disappointment is that it does not turn off when it reaches the desired temperature. It either has to be on the whole time where it makes the room way too cold for him or we have to try to use the timer to estimate how long it should stay on. For this price point we are really not happy with that aspect. Our window unit in our room that cost way less even has that feature. Would not buy this model again and Im not sure I would buy another LG AC.

Product cools OK but as a previous reviewer mentioned the fan does not kick off EVER. There is nothing in the marketing or instructions that point this out I wouldve assumed that an AC unit with an adjustable temp control would TURN OFF altogether when you reach the specified temp ya know like my central AC or the dehumidifier we have in another room or ANY other thermostatically-controlled unit. I complained to a customer rep on the phone about this thinking my unit was defective its still under warranty and they said you have to use the timer to shut it off Ill send you videos... to which I pointed out that there was NO documentation of this ANYWHERE. Videos were random Youtube videos of a suburban dad touting the cooling capability NOTHING about the thermo fan or timer operation. Useless. How a company like LG allowed a product to get to market with this glaring instructional and design omission blows me away. Theres a million versions of this type of unit by other manufacturers Id say if you like your AC unit to turn OFF the specified room temp look elsewhere....

This product has been an utterly disappointing experience. The noise level of the A/C is unprecedented compared to any Ive previously owned. For instance our living rooms Toshiba unit with 10000 BTUs emits far less noise than this LG A/C. Despite enduring its numerous shortcomings too many to enumerate the A/C failed just after a year and a half. I diligently cleaned the filters emptied the water reservoir and stored the unit correctly during winter. Yet despite my efforts to prolong its life it didnt last beyond eighteen months. The frustration was compounded by the lackluster customer service. The representative was indifferent and seemed eager to end the call. They provided contacts for three service companies one of which doesnt even handle the issues LG claimed they specialized in and another was out of business despite being recommended by LG. The poor product performance and customer service are equally shocking. The sole positive outcome is realizing how little LG regards customer satisfaction. Absolutely take your business elsewhere as I wish I had done so from the jump.

When i first got this AC i loved it and thought i was a great investment. I got it the summer of 2021 for my bedroom which is no bigger than a 12x12 I am in New England so it only gets used from the end of May-September during the day if i am home and at night.The first summer was great. The past 2 summers it still worked fine with cooling however it would constantly shut on and off on its own which it had never done previously. Now the unit is spitting out water constantly and shutting off and to be honest its quite frustrating especially after being sure to take proper care of it. Now im looking into getting a new AC because I cannot deal with this all summer. Its crazy that the AC I had from the age of 5 until about 23 worked perfectly fine every summer and never had an issue. Only switched to a portable after putting new windows in the house. Super disappointed that I couldnt get more than a few years with this unit. Will definitely be staying away from LG.

This is consistently ranked as one of the quieter portable AC units on the market. For me it was far too loud for my small room. The hose also did not want to stay connected to the unit I would have needed to tape it on if I werent returning it. Ill be changing to a non LG window unit. Make sure you understand LGs return policy before buying direct I did not and I regret it.

We bought this unit to cool down a 175 square foot bonus room over our garage. Its been two months now and has worked great. I wasnt sure how it would do compared to a window unit but it cools the room down without the hassle of installing and removing a heavy window air conditioner. I like the fact that if we need to we can move it somewhere else like the garage if needed. Now with Summer almost here we will have the A/C on downstairs and that can only help the upstairs. We went with the LG unit due to very good experience with other LG appliances.

My helper found this for me and we ordered it on-line. In the back room where the AC unit is we had to have the vent go through a long piece of wood and was drilled through that. Separate water hose drips into the back garden. This unit solved my problem since I have a flat roof and cannot connect a vent from AC in the home. Worst A/c ever The temperature control is very inconsistent. Sometimes at night I wake up freezing because it did not stay at 73. Other times I cannot get it to cool the room and I have to set it to 66. Most recently it set itself to celsius and will not go back go fahrenheit I know Americans really should know the metric system... I called LG and they are supposed to send me a new remote that will fix this but so far I have not received it.

I purchased this unit in July 2022 for a wine room cooler and installed then. It operated fine when installed. In November of each year I turn the unit off until April of the next year as the cooler temperature is not needed during the winter months in Alabama. In April 2023 I turned the unit back on and it operated fine until August 2023. At this time the unit stopped cooling. I would expect a new unit to last more than 12 months not continuous. With a 1 year warranty this is not acceptable. I have had other brands in there in the past that have lasted 5 - 6 years. I would not recommend the LG unit.

Compressor broke right after the warranty expired

We live in Connecticut so we only used it for 2 months the first year we owned it. It broke the following year right after the warranty expired. We took it to the repair facility recommended by LG and were told that it would cost more to repair than buying a new one. The repair facility also said that this is typical of LG compressors. We contacted LG and they refused to pay for the repair. I would not recommend this product.

Cant sleep with the LG 6000btu portable A/C

I bought this LG Portable A/C rather than the numerous other brands due to my satisfaction with other LG products that i own. The product cools well with a notable crutial exception. Due to the default non adjustable energy saving mode of operation once the set temperature is reached and the compressor turns off the fan also turns off a short while afterwards. This non adjustable function was confirmed by LG technical support and is normal. During the daytime this issue is not a problem. However when using the A/C in a bedroom the fan cycles on and off constantly throughout the night. The cycling of the compressor is not disturbing but the fan cycling on and off throughout the night causes sleeping for my wife and me to be nearly impossible. I bought the A/C to supplement central A/C at night in a 2nd floor bedroom. Due to the fan constantly turning off and on at night I am no longer using this LG A/C. If I had known that this function was present and not adjustable I would have never bought this A/C. It is no longer being used and is in storage.

Was good for a year and then a few months past warranty the intake fan got misaligned hadnt moved the unit for months and ended up cutting through the black plastic backing and then broke off a few blades. Now it blows out cold air for a few mins but switches to hot air as I guess it overheats.
