This is my second unit as we moved to a new property. Simple to install and runs extremely well using potassium. Potassium is much better than salt and avoids the need for reverse osmosis. Easy setup and monitoring. It sips the potassium so 2 bags last over half a year.

The guy who installed it was very professional, done in a timely manner, cleaned up, nicely n neatly installed and explained everything about the new water softener. Just installed so no true review on the softener yet. But I am sure it will do everything it is suppose too. We are really excited about out new Water Softener. All of our home appliances have come from Recker and Boerger and I have never had an issue.

I love my GE water softener! I live in an area that has very hard water and it was ruining all my faucets and basically everything that the water passes through. I have noticed such a difference, it's really quite amazing. This unit softens my water and even makes my hair so much more manageable than with hard water. So happy with my purchase!

Great unit. Easy to install. Easy to program and get it working. I like how when you add salt you can input the salt level and then it will monitor it for you. Mine worked great until one night during the recharge something blew out below the control panel (not on the input or output piping), filled the tank and overflowed into the basement. I just happen to be up letting the dog out and heard the water running. I shut it off. Not too big of a mess. Will contact GE to make repair under the warranty.

This has been working great for me. I have been using it for a year.
It will be good to have a pan below the unit.
I had an overflow (that's what I think) and a pan would have prevented my wooden floor from being damaged.
However, a call to GE support clarified the steps I need to take.
Hopefully the issue is resolved.

it would be beneficial to have a means to drain the unit. i am using it in a seasonal home that is not heated during winter months. the unit had no instructions for winterization so i was left to fend for myself.

I just had this GE Water softener for about 3 weeks. The water was soft the next day after hooking it up. Works great tells you when the salt is low and how many days it has left before you need to refill. Glad I got this one

If you're the least bit handy around the house this is a DIY install. EZ to understand electronic controls. Replaced a GE softener that had given many years of service. Would have given 5 stars but the shell on this unit is noticeably thinner than previous products

I purchased this softener to replace the exact same softener that I purchased from Home Depot 5 years ago. It worked very well, until I decided to switch from using salt pellets to the new Morton Salt Wave salt blocks. I thought it made sense because the bags were smaller and easy to handle…..BIG MISTAKE. The softener kept filling up to overflow. I followed all directions in the GE manual to correct the problem, nothing worked. Decided rather than hire a plumber to try and figure out what was wrong. Thought it would be cheaper just to replace.

Purchased this GE softener to replace my old GE softener that failed after 10+ years. Since this new softener is the same model as the old one I trust it will also work for the next 10+ years. Upon arrival the float in the brine well was broken. I called GE and a new brine well assembly was delivered the next day at no cost to me. Very impressive.

This water softener was a replacement for another, competitive brand. Thus far, it has performed beyond our expectations and has noticeably reduced the hardness of our water. We considered an electronic solution, but soon discarded it because these don't actually alter the composition, and hardness, of our water.
We have a tankless hot water heater that requires soft water. We're confident, based on experience with other GE appliances, that it will perform as expected.

Was very easy to install. Went to Lowes and the salesperson handed me 2 copper lines that connected to the 3/4 inch connections on the back of the softener and 2 pcv connecter that connected to my pvc water line. So easy

Same brand of water softener as I replaced. It started leaking last week and I am beside myself. Guess I will have to get Warranty to repair or replace. All I did was add two bags of salt pellets and it started leaking the next day.

This softener doesn't recharge at all. I have to recharge it manually every 5 days or so. Also, the control panel broke after 1 month of use. I'll be buying a different brand going forward.
