Just OK dehumidifier

This is the 3rd Frigidaire dehumidifier I have owned. It is a cheapened version of the other two I have owned. Instead of the flashing front light that indicates the bucket is full on the older model, the current model has a very small red light on top of the unit that is not visible from across a room. Additionally the bucket of the new model fills up to high making it difficult to remove the full bucket and not spill water. I probably will not by another.

I have the unit in my basement which tends to have high humidity. I only have to run the unit every 2 days to get my humidity level down to 43 %. So far I am well pleased with the Frigidaire dehumidifier. My last dehumidifier only lasted 2 years. We will see how long this one lasts.

I love this dehumidifier! It does a great job of taking the moisture out of the air in my basement. I recently had a bad experience with a purchase that I made online and I learned that lesson the hard way. I tried to return it and the best they would do for me was to reimburse me one-half of the purchase price. However, they did let me keep the dehumidifier so now it's up to me to figure out what's wrong with it. I wish that I would have bought this dehumidifier first.

This replaces a 3.5 year old 70 pt. model after the bucket handle snapped. That one replaced one that died 1.5 yrs. in, but I had purchased an extended warranty. The new model is much quieter. However, it's still much to early in my ownership to give a substantial review. Notice that the plastic is much flimsier, so time will tell. Stay tuned...

This dehumidifier works really well! It is much quieter than my last one with a sleeker design. The only issue is that the touch controls on the top are difficult to reach because the pipe I use for continuous drain is at waist level, meaning I need to elevate the dehumidifier to head level to properly drain. At this height, I cannot see or feel the controls and need to use a mirror to access them.

I've had this Dehumidifier for about a month now. It consistently pulls a full container of water out of the air about every 24 hours in my basement. Set up was very simple--essentially plug and play. It's a bit on the heavy side but I needed the capacity so that was expected. This is the second Frigidaire dehumidifier I've had. First one lasted about 5 years. I will be happy if this one lasts as long. Would definitely purchase again.

Very disappointed. Lasted 5 months of use and now all it does it run for 20 min and shuts off with code EC. Reset 8-10 times to find the same code. Out of basic warranty but sealed system is apparently covered for 5 years. Not mine of course even through this is a common issue apparently (code EC), I expect it to last more than 5 months so I give it zero stars. ( I purchased it because of the 5 star rating). I just want it repaired, is that asking too much? Can't say if I will buy another product after this. Hate to be that guy but for 400 dollars I expect a better product. Sorry but that's how I feel. Glad I didn't scrap my original one from 1978, works great. Wish I had this Frigidaire unit working. Greg

I purchased a Frigidaire 50 pint dehumidifier almost a year ago and it worked extremely well. Unfortunately, it quit working one day and was throwing an error code. I contacted Frigidaire and they sent a replacement free of charge. Frigidaire's customer service was excellent and it's the main reason I will be coming back.

Wish I had read the reviews prior to buying this unit. Bought it about 1 1/2 years ago. It started showing the EC fault code a few months ago. I would unplug the unit for a few minutes and then plug it back in and it would start working again for a while. Contacted customer support and was told the unit was out of warranty. Apparently this is a common issue. Don't understand why they won't replace it or pay for a repair on a problem that they clearly know about. Will never buy a Fridgidaire product again.

Frigidaire 5033W1 Dehumidifier Review

I unboxed and plugged the dehumidifier in an outlet. No response from the unit when pressing the on/off button. Electricity to the unit was verified. There was also no response when pressing the unit up arrow. When I called the toll free number stated in the user's manual, I was told that I could not return the unit, they only do exchanges. After calling three phone numbers (1.25 hours on the phone), I was able to reach a company representative who said that I could return the unit without having to pay the shipping and handling cost and do a refund. The unit was picked up and I received a refund on my credit card. Note there is a newer model (5034W1) that recently came on the market which has the newer R-32 refrigerant. The defective unit I received (5033W1) has R-410 refrigerant.

I'm on my second unit of this model, it works just fine for what I need it for, but I worry about how long it will last. the first one I bought only lasted 2 years and I had to buy this replacement one, but I haven't had any luck with dehumidifiers lately, they just don't build them to last anymore.

Broke a month after the warranty period with EC error. Not worth the price at all. If you leave a 1 star, they automated response will tell you to call their centre for a "case by case" help. They will tell you that it is outside the 1 year and breaking is normal. Try any other brand

The dehumidifier was great until it stopped working. I've had the product for almost three years and it recently started displaying the EC error code. I contacted customer service and they said it's unrepairable and is no longer covered under warranty. I've had cheaper models that lasted much longer than this one. Totally disappointed.
